Our Instructors
Todd Boeding
Todd is in a small minority of Texans with Dallas on his birth certificate, driver’s license, and two diplomas. A graduate of Dallas Jesuit and the University of Texas at Dallas, his professional background began in 1989 when he enlisted in the Marine Corps.
Ultimately earning the rank of major in the infantry, he completed his commitment to the Corps in 2003 after serving a tour at the White House and as the platoon commander for the prestigious Silent Drill Platoon.
After 20 years of corporate experience in sales leadership at every level, Todd transitioned his knowledge of people and leadership into teaching.
Todd has also served as a board member of Carry The Load since 2014.
Ted Handler
Lt Col Ted Handler USMC (Ret.) comes to Tribe&Trust with more than 35 years of success in various leadership roles in global business and the military.
His military resume includes selection for command at every rank held and service within the infantry, reconnaissance, sniper and special operations communities. Ted is especially proud of his service as an original founding member of the Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC) and his service with Naval Special Warfare Developmental Group where he finished his military career.
Ted’s business experience includes work in the financial markets with UBS, senior leadership positions in manufacturing with Kuchler Electronics GmBH. and STIHL Inc., board member of TBP Pharma and his most recent position as President/CEO of Terelion here in Dallas. Ted is also active in numerous philanthropic endeavors as a member of the board of directors for several charitable organizations that support our veteran community, including The Sheepdog Coalition.
Gary Bilyeu
Gary Bilyeu is a native Texan who began his professional background in 1993 when he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He originally attended the Virginia Military Institute on a football scholarship before returning home to graduate from the University of North Texas. Upon graduating, he attended Officer Candidate School.
After becoming an Infantry Officer, he served in a wide range of leadership positions during peacetime and combat tours on Active Duty and the Reserves. He retired from the Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel after 29 year of service.
Gary spent three years in corporate America before setting out on a series of entrepreneurial ventures that include real estate, insurance, and financial services. He has also served in local government positions for 15 years.
Earl McFarland
Earl McFarland, a native of Dunn, North Carolina, comes from a proud military family. He served 22 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. Earl trained over 80 facilitators and qualified more than 40 Master Training Specialists, earning his Master Training Specialist qualification while serving at the Naval Special Warfare Advanced Training Command.
After his military career, Earl entered Human Resources at Decisions, a software company in Virginia Beach, where he developed programs to combat burnout and imposter syndrome. He holds a master’s in education from Liberty University and is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, leading over 100 coaching sessions, team workshops, and leadership trainings.
As an entrepreneur, Earl also creates leadership programs for veterans and volunteers with Norfolk non-profits, offering employment coaching to veterans and the unhoused.
AJ Munro
AJ Munro is a seasoned leader with 31 years in the Marine Corps, retiring as a Colonel. A combat veteran, AJ held key command roles, including with the 5th Marine Regiment and Marine Special Operations, and served as an instructor at The Basic School, shaping future leaders. His deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan honed his ability to lead in high-stakes environments.
In the private sector, AJ has excelled as an executive in energy and commercial real estate. As VP of Operations for Veolia North America, he enhanced performance across the Western U.S. At the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, he directed daily operations and strategic initiatives for the tribe’s $800M+ Yaamava’ Casino and Resort expansion.
With expertise in building cross-functional teams and aligning resources with strategic goals, AJ has led operations with Fortune 50 companies. He holds degrees from Penn State, UCLA, and the U.S. Army War College and resides in Mission Viejo, California, with his family.
Craig Kozeniesky
Colonel Craig Kozeniesky, USMC (Ret.), a native of New Mexico, graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute and the University of New Mexico. Serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1988 to 2016, he is a combat veteran of Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan, retiring as a Colonel. Known for his leadership in USMC infantry, reconnaissance, and special operations units, he was a foreign exchange officer with the British Royal Marines and the Norwegian Army. Craig commanded Task Unit Raider in Baghdad and Task Force Fuji during Japan’s Operation Tomodachi disaster relief. In April 2024, he was inducted into the U.S. Special Operations Command Commando Hall of Honor.
Since retiring, Craig has held roles in government contracting, the Nevada Secretary of State Office, and as CEO of USA Shooting. He currently supports veterans and hunting non-profits and resides in Colorado Springs, CO, with his wife of 33 years.
Andrew Murphy
Andrew is a seasoned veteran with a diverse background in military service, leadership consulting, private equity, and entrepreneurship. Beginning his military career in 2006, he served as a personnel administrator, Marine Raider, and special operations instructor. He earned a BA in Homeland Security and began a Master’s degree at the University of North Carolina while serving.
After transitioning from active duty, Andrew applied his leadership expertise as a Senior Project Manager at ArcLight Consulting, advising senior leaders on strategic initiatives. During this time, he earned an MBA and helped organizations achieve operational success.
Andrew’s career shifted to private equity, where he served as Market Area President for the Coastal Carolinas, overseeing regional investments and operations. His strategic acumen and military discipline drove significant growth and profitability.
Now based in Tampa, FL, Andrew owns a small business in the marine services industry. His journey reflects a dedication to leadership, self-improvement, and excellence rooted in his military service.
Chris May
Chris is a seasoned leader with over 24 years in the Marine Corps, retiring as a MGySgt in 2017 as a Battalion Operations Chief. As a combat veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, Chris has served as a leader at every level in the Reconnaissance community from small teams to the Battalion level. While deployed, Chris served as a platoon commander twice leading marines while in combat. These opportunities highlighted his leadership and desire to inspire others on and off the battlefield.
Since retiring Chris has held roles as an instructor for the United States Marine Corps instructing the next generation of war fighters and spent 5 years in corporate America managing the central United States for Under Armour tactical. Chris has spent the last year working with a team on challenging projects globally.
Chris is the owner of Brother Recon LLC and has served as the Vice President of the Marine Reconnaissance Foundation for the last 6 years providing support to our veterans and their families.
